Episode 20: Sonship

Many topics in Scripture have an “already” / ”not yet” aspect to them. This is also true for the theological doctrine of adoption.

Through Christ we are treated fully as children of God now. This is the “already” nature if sonship for those in Christ. Yet, the Scriptures also tell us that there will be a time when these earthly bodies die that we will be fully sons and daughters of the God. This is the “not yet” aspect of adoption.

We who are in Christ are treated fully as children of God. As a child of God we are to act accordingly. Always being transformed more and more into the image and likeness of our elder brother, Jesus Christ. God lovingly chastises His children when we go astray. Always calling us back to Himself through Christ.
